  • On 24th July 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Major Minakshi to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their first girls battalion in Haryana. Around 350 Cadets from 14 colleges, 6 schools of Haryana participated in the program.

Major Minakshi addressed the audience telling them about the importance of organ donation and the need for organ donors has never been greater. There are far more people in need of a transplant than there are people willing to donate an organ.

Firstly, Aakriti Negi introduced herself to the students and after that she asked questions to the students to check their knowledge about organ donation and transplantation.

Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Aakriti Negi.

In her talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants and how they became a legacy
    • Importance of a Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation
    • MOHAN Foundation mission & vision

The awareness talk ended with a vote of thanks by the GCI Amana Saini. She encouraged the Cadets to be aware and spread the message of organ donation. The entire group got motivated and was an interactive session. All the questions were answered after the presentation and 80 donor cards were picked by the cadets.

In the end they showed great interest and would like to do more programs with MOHAN Foundation.
