  Mr. Kuppan, 40, was a weaver by profession in Arni, Tamil Nadu. He met with an accident while crossing the road in Pootuthakku town. He was first rushed to the Christian Medical College Hospital Vellore and then to the Government hospital there. Later he was shifted to the Government General Hospital Chennai, where he was declared brain dead. The family, in a heartwarming gesture of generosity, agreed to donate Mr. Kuppan's organs when the transplant coordinator explained the concept of organ donation to them.
