On August 19, 2023, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador, MOHAN Foundation, set up an Organ Donation Information Desk at the Blood Donation Camp organised by Caring Souls and St. Mary's Convent High School in collaboration with Goa Medical College.
Mr. and Mrs. Rohit Kolwalkar and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Barretto from the business community of Goa supported the camp.
The blood donation camp was conducted in the school's gymnasium, where students were informed beforehand to inform their parents to attend. Approximately 97 individuals attended the camp, 72 were eligible to donate, and 25 were rejected.
Mr. Gabriel displayed two videos on the display: What Is brain death? and a brief animated presentation by Shweta Gupta on organ donation. He distributed approximately eighty FAQs and spoke to parents about organ donation and why we needed to come forward to pledge.
16 individuals committed to organ donation by pledging their organs upon death.
