Organ Donation Awareness for Members of Mahathapasvi Seva Trust, Gadag

  • With the blessings of Sri Sri Kavigururaja Swamiji, MOHAN Foundation conducted an interactive session at Lakshmeshwara Taluk on 11th December 2021.

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar M S, Project Manager and Mr. Marulappa L N, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation addressed members of Mahathapasvi Seva Trust and general public and in a temple, in the presence of Sri Paramapoojya Avadhoota Sri Sri Kavigururaja Guruji. A total of 380 members attended the session.

    Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission and vision; the concept of organ and tissue donation; types of death - cardiac death and brain death; and procedures of deceased and living organ donation. Mrs. Ranjini also elaborated on the procedure of eye, skin, and bone donation; briefly explained the role of Government of Karnataka (Jeevasarthakathe); touched upon the transplant law and the importance of a donor card. Myths and facts, and barriers to organ donation were greatly emphasised upon. Pictorial placards were used as a tool to educate the audience

    Sri Paramapoojya Avadhoota Sri Sri Kavigururaja Guruji highlighted the importance of organ donation, and encouraged everyone present to pledge for organ donation, as no deed is greater than saving one’s life. He then appreciated the work of MOHAN Foundation which is been working for the noble cause.

    Around 365 people signed up as organ donors during the event. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Sri Paramapoojya Avadhoota Sri Sri Kavigururaja Guruji and the Trust for the blessed opportunity.
