MOHAN Foundation conducts a sensitization session on organ donation the Nurses in Intensive Trauma Care Unit (ITCU)

  • Ms. Sunitha A. T. and Mr. Prakash K. Transplant Coordinators from MOHAN Foundation conducted an Sensitisation Programme on 13th March 2014 for the nurses in the ITCU at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) on the Concepts of Organ Donation.

     

    During her talk she explained the following topics:

    1. Who can be a donor?
    2. What is Natural Death?
    3. What is Brain Death?
    4. What are the differences between Brain death and Coma?
    5. What organs and the tissues can be donated after Brain Death
    6. Importance of a Donor card

     

    She also explained the role of nurses in early identifying and then maintaining a potential brain death donor. 5 nurses attended the programme and all of them expressed their wish to pledge for the donor card by signing the form
