Mindtree minds think about organ donation

  • Mindtree is a global information technology consulting firm specializing in corporate IT services and solutions with a motto of  Welcome to Possible. On 19th August 2014 Mindtree is completing their 15th year. They have asked their employees to support a social cause. One of them being Pledging for Organ donation which is spearheaded by Mr. Ramkumar Sethupathy, of Mindtree. They approached MOHAN Foundation to spread the word of “Organ Donation” among their employees. Sessions were organized in their  offices around the country on different dates. 

     

    On 13th August 2014 an interactive session was organized for the Mindtree employees of Chennai. Dr. Christopher Taylor Barry, MD, PhD, Liver Transplant Surgeon, University of Rochester, USA, Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Manager, and Kavitha, Marketing Coordinator represented MOHAN Foundation. 

     

    Information standees were kept in the reception and in the cafeteria.  The Mindtree minds have been receiving  mailers and reminders  containing facts on organ donation. The volunteers of Mindtree and the MOHAN Foundation walked to each and every floor of the Mindtree office complex to explain about the importance of Organ Donation and carrying a Donor card. Organ Donation tollfree helpline number was given to them.

     

    More than  500 people were made aware of the possibility of saving lives. Finally Mr.Ramakumar announced that 19th August the floor will be open for everyone to register as an Organ Donor and also create a record by registering more than 5000 in one hour.
