An Awareness Programme on Organ Donation at Blue World Cargo

  Mr. Vengattu, Executive Director, Blue world Cargo Explaining the importance of the Event

  On 12^th January 2015, Blue World Cargo (BWC), Clive Battery, Chennai conducted an awareness programme for their employees on Organ Donation. On the occasion of their 18^th Annual Day Mr. Venkattu, Executive Director BWC invited Cadaver Transplant Programme to give an awareness talk on Organ Donation.

  The programme began with a welcome address by the director and he explained the importance of event and the noble cause. Prakash K. Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation facilitated and spoke about the Concepts of Organ Donation.

  The following topics were covered in his talk:

  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death and Coma
  • Importance of the consent from the family
  • Importance of Donor card 
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • Helpline Number

   

  Totally 50 employees participated and supported the noble cause and Mr Venkattu planned to organise one more awareness programme.
