New York Police Busts Human Organs Thieving Network.

February 24, 2006
  • The United states, police busted and cracked a network which used to secretly remove bones, tendons, heart valves and other tissues from corpses at funeral homes.
This network devoid of any human values had atrociously removed organs of the deceased and used for profit. This has caused anger and dismay to the relatives and the recipients of the Transplants
The prosecution alleged that the stolen tissues were removed from the corpses of people who never gave consent to be donors and were sold to tissue transplant companies for surgical procedures around the world. Although it is illegal for donors to sell human organs, one body can fetch up to approx $250,000,and allegedly paid funeral home directors up to $1,000 per body, masking the payments as fees for services.
Moreover the mandatory medical precautions were allegedly not taken to ensure that the transplants were free from disease or defects, the charges said. The suspects had allegedly to have forged death certificates and organ-donor consent forms to create the appearance of legality. To meet the age requirements, ages were often falsified .
