On August 14, 2023, MOHAN Foundation set up an organ donation information desk at a fashion show event named Let’s KEO (Know Each Other) organised by HHK Foundation in association with S.K. Education Pvt. Ltd. and the Bachpan Play School at C.D. Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Centre, Delhi. This event was dedicated to promoting accessibility and inclusivity for people with disabilities.
Ms. Navjot Kaur, Executive Assistant, S.K. Education Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, invited the MF Delhi team via email to present as a guest and to set up an OD desk at the event. Ms. Simran Anand, Programme Officer, MF, NCR, coordinated with Ms. Navjot and set up the OD desk at the venue. Mr. Sanchit Arora, an MF intern, accompanied her.
Let’s KEO aims to bring about a positive transformation in the mindsets of people with disabilities. This initiative was to encourage achievers and fighters in the disability segment to come to the forefront and showcase their abilities.
Many people, like the CEO, director, and other members of HHK and other organisations, visited the kiosk. MF representatives covered the following topics during their interactions with them:
• Importance and need for organ donation
• The process of organ donation
• Organ donation after circulatory death and brain death
• The importance of body donation and deceased organ donation
• Grief counselling
• Cornea donation
Queries such as the process of organ allocation: what organs can be donated? How can a living person donate his or her organs? What is the process of pledging for organ donation? Will the organs reach the right recipient? Were answered professionally by the MF representatives.
People motivated and appreciated the efforts of the MF team in spreading awareness about organ donation.
Close to 80 visitors visited the information desk.
