CME on Setting up an Organ Sharing Network in North Karnataka and Saving Lives held at KIMS, Hubballi

  • Department of Nephrology and Urology, KIMS Hubballi with the support of Hubballi Dharwad Nephrology and Urology in association with Jeevasarthakathe (Government of Karnataka) and MOHAN Foundation conducted a CME on ‘Setting up an Organ Sharing Network in North Karnataka and Saving Lives’ on 26th August 2018 at Dennissons Hotel, Hubballi.

    More than 150 professionals in the fields of Anaesthesia, Intensivists, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physicians, ICU Nurses and Hospital Admins were present for the CME.

    Mr Aravind Shiggaon, Rtd Navy Commodore, recipient of ‘Vishisht Seva’ Medal from the President of India was the Chief Guest and pledged himself as an organ donor which was inspirational for the society.

    Mr. Shiggaon said, “Organ donation after brain death is the way to live after death” and this should be taken seriously by every citizen.

    We would like to thank the speakers Dr. Sunil Shroff, Dr. Kishore Phadke, Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Dr. Dilip Jawali, Dr. Sonal Asthana, Dr. Richard Saldanha, Dr. Arun.V, Dr. Chidananda Swamy, Dr. RB Nerli who are the pioneers in their respective fields who guided us for the programme. Thank you to the Chairpersons as well.

    Mrs Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation also conducted the ‘Angels of Change’ Volunteer training for College Student Leaders.

    Positive feedback was received from the attendees which inspire us to conduct more such programs in the near future to fulfill the dream of a successful Organ Sharing Network.

    The program was conceptualised and coordinated with faculty by Mr Shridhar Hanchinal, Hon.Director, MOHAN Foundation, Bangalore.
