MOHAN Foundation Transplant Coordinators Felicitated at the State Programme

  • The Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu (TRANSTAN) organized an event to honour the families of deceased organ donors in the state on 31st January 2019 at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Chennai. Dr.C.Vijayabaskar, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu was the chief guest. The other guests present at the event were Dr. R. Kanthimathy, Member Secretary, TRANSTAN, Dr. Edwin Joe, Director of Medical Education, Deans from various Medical Colleges across the state and Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation.  

    The organ donor families, who had saved many lives by donating their loved ones’ organs, were honored by Dr.C.Vijayabaskar, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu. TRANSTAN’s Annual Report (Deceased donation and transplantation) for the period April 2017 - March 2018 was released by the Honourable Minister during the event. The hospitals and the personnel including doctors, paramedical staff and transplant coordinators were also felicitated during the event for their exemplary work in the field of the deceased organ donation and transplantation programme.

    Transplant coordinators deputed to various government medical colleges and hospitals in the state by MOHAN Foundation through a Memorandum of Understanding with TRANSTAN were also felicitated during the event for their contribution. The awards were presented by Dr.C.Vijayabaskar, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu

    • The team of Transplant coordinators deputed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) received the Best Team Award for facilitating more number of deceased donations in the state.
    • Mr. R. Ragavan, Transplant Coordinator, deputed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital received the Best Transplant Coordinator Award.
    • Mr. S. Venkatesh, Transplant Coordinator, deputed to the Madurai Medical College and Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai was awarded for his contribution towards creating awareness in the Southern Districts of Tamil Nadu
    • Mr. Dileep Kumar.S, Transplant Coordinator, deputed to the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem was felicitated for conducting the most number of awareness programmes in the Western Districts of Tamil Nadu.
