Organ and Tissue Donation information stall at Rotary Club Nagpur’s Annual Walkathon

  • The Rotary Club of Nagpur conducted the prestigious and the biggest PR event THE NAGPUR ROTARY

    ARNEJA WALKATHON & DREAM RUN on 31st January 2016. This year saw the highest number of registrations. The objective of the event is to make people aware about the benefits of simple exercise

    - walking. Apart from the regular walkers and runners there were two added attractions – The Senior Citizen’s Walk and Special Citizen’s Walk where specially abled children participated in the walk.

     

    This year the Club showcased five important projects, which included ‘Awareness of Organ Donation’. Dr. Ravi Wankhede is the Chairman of the Organ donation Awareness Committee along with Shiraz Doongaji and Dr. Sameer Jahagirdar head the Eyes and Skin donation movement.

     

    100 feet by 10 feet banner was prepared on the sidelines, which featured the five top social projects of the Club. 20 feet by 10 feet area dealt with information about organ, eyes and skin donation. Kanchan Shewde and Bulu Behera the Transplant Coordinators of MOHAN Foundation gave information about organ  and tissue donation to the visitors. Several questions were asked by the people and  they clarified the doubts. Some picked up organ donation forms by pledging. A few desired to organize talks in their Institutions. MOHAN Foundation is grateful to Rtn. Khushnoor Chugh the President of Rotary Club Nagpur for help and guidance during the show.
