On 8th February 2015, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Raghavan to organize Organ Donation awareness stall as a part of Alumni Meet organized at AV College, Gaganmahal, Hyderabad.
AV College is one of the oldest and pioneer educational institutes and also rated among the best colleges in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad founded by stalwarts and philanthropists of freedom struggle and in fact it is one of the first institutes to have started education in Telugu medium during erstwhile Nizam’s rule.
There were about 300 alumni members that have visited our stall and were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The visitors were clearly explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation and were requested to join us in spreading awareness about organ donation. The visitors positively reacted to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation in the future in the communities that they are engaged.
We thank Mr. Raghavan for taking this noble initiative of promoting organ donation at the Alumni Meet and also the management and organizers for giving us this opportunity.
