Awareness session on Organ Donation at Lifeline Hospital, Panvel, Navi Mumbai

  • 28th July 2018, MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by Lifeline Hospital, Panvel, Navi Mumbai to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation for their doctors and resident staff.


    The session was started by Mr. Amit Shenoy  by asking what comes to their mind when one speaks about Organ Donation. There were positive responses. He went to introduce MOHAN Foundation, its mission; vision and history were introduced to the staff. The concept of organ donation was introduced, types of organs and tissues that can be donated, types of death, the concept of brain death, video was showed on what is Brain dead, how to identified brain dead was also discussed. Difference between brain death and comma.


    Various myths and facts for organ donation was discussed by Jigisha Yadav.  Information about organ allocation, and distribution were also shared.


    There were 60 to 65 participants. 20 took the pledge. We thank Dr. Rajesh Shah and Dr. Jayshree Patil of Lifeline Hospitals, Panvel, Navi Mumbai for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
