Fiona and Johnathan Edwards are a unique couple. They are both transplant recipients who met when Fiona was to explain to Jon on what to expect from his operation.

"We sort of got together for a coffee and became friends and that," she recalled. "We became soulmates." Fiona said she could not have imagined such a situation 10 years ago when a dialysis machine was needed to keep her alive.

"I’ve had my transplant for 10 years. When you’re 19-20, you think I’ve got to get a transplant, and it will be OK," Fiona said. "After the transplant, the first thing they said to me was this is not a cure, you’ve got to think of it as a holiday from dialysis."

Fiona said that her ordeal made her realize that it was important for people to donate organs so as to save innumerable lives.
