Walk for a Cause - Proddutur to Tirumala Tirupati

    We are happy to welcome people to support “Walk for a Cause” by Mr. Kovurru Ramesh Reddy, who is a dual organ recipient. He has undergone liver transplant 11 years ago and kidney transplant 6 years ago, both from deceased donors coordinated by MOHAN Foundation.

     

    After all this time, Mr. Ramesh Reddy took this courageous step to walk for 225 kms from Proddutur to Tirumala from 4th to 13th September, 2014 to thank the donor families, create awareness among the general public and increase confidence among organ recipients that they can lead a healthy life even after organ transplantation. Dr. Koti Reddy and Dr. Bhanu Chandra of MOHAN Foundation will accompany Mr. Ramesh Reddy all through the journey.  

     

    MOHAN Foundation wishes Mr. Ramesh Reddy all the very best on his journey and for making such an act of valor for the noble cause of educating public on organ donation.

     

    Day One - 4th September 2014

    On 4th September 2014, the walk started at Proddutur from Sivaalayam Circle after performing pooja at Siva Temple with large procession of 800 people congratulating and wishing all the success to Mr. Ramesh Reddy and applauded Dr. Koti Reddy and Dr. Bhanu Chandra for accompanying Mr. Ramesh Reddy.

     

    During the walk, donor cards and information brochures were distributed to the people of the villages that fall on the way and small meets were conducted to address the public of the villages about organ donation.

     

    Public Awareness talks were conducted at CBIT and VBIT Colleges Proddutur with more than 600 students participating and later on at Zilla Parishad School of Chepadu Mandal.

     

    A large procession of students and public gathered at Mydukur Junction along with the Municipal Chairman and Jana Vignana Vedika volunteers. Dr. Bhanu Chandra and Dr. Koti Reddy addressed the public on MOHAN Foundation activities and importance of deceased organ donation. Finally, the procession reached Saibaba Temple at Mydukur where all the participants were made arrangements to rest for the day.
