To celebrate the 16th anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Mission Trust, the members of the trust invited MOHAN Foundation for an awareness program on organ donation and also discuss the success of NGO in the field of organ donation. Mr. Ruban Victor, Project Manager MOHAN Foundation and Mr. Abhinav Krishna represented MOHAN Foundation.
The anniversary dedicated three days (7 - 9 October 2016) to events and talks on peace in the world. Various religious people and other delegates from other country attended the program and spoke on the various activities.
The session on Organ Donation was held on 7th October 2016 at the Mylapore premises and began with an introductory speech about the MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Ruban started with the golden words of Ramakrishna “LET NONE SUFFER”. In an interactive way, the participants explained the words “let all human being be free from all kinds of suffering. Mr. Ruban added even MOHAN Foundation works for the same principles, helping people suffering from the end stage organ failure.
The presentation was divided into two halves, in the first session the presentation was how MOHAN Foundation started, the activities of the foundation, the training program for the transplant coordinators and its state wise impact in cadaver donation was explained. In the second session the concepts on understanding the brain death, and the process of transplant was explained. The statistics of donor who have donated and how many lives of people been saved was shown to the people. A few donor stories were told to the audience. The session ended with the video “Live Beyond Life”.
After the session the Shri Kesavan, coordinator Sri Ramakrishna Mission trust gave a vote of thanks and appreciated the activities of MOHAN Foundation and its service to the society. He also requested the people to come forward and donate the organs after death to help the suffering. Mr. Abhinav and Mr. Sathiya Moorthy manned the MOHAN foundation information desk.
