Talk on deceased organ donation at International Women’s day celebrations at Katol Naka Square

  • On 8th March 2014 MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Amit Das Project Coordinator of Evanligical Social Action Forum, Nagpur to  talk on deceased organ donation on the occasion of Women’s Day.  The aim was to create an awareness about organ donation to the members of the  Self Help Group of Katol Naka Square. Ms. Kanchan Shewde, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation Nagpur was the key speaker.

     

    Miss. Kanchan Shewde spoke about the activities of MOHAN Foundation in Nagpur.   She explained the Concepts of Organ Donation which included Brain Death and Coma, Organs and tissues can be donated, Transplantation of Human Organ Act 1994, functions of Brain Stem, Importance of Donor card, and  the organs that  can be donated after natural death and brain death. 

     

    69 members participated in the Women’s  Day event, no one signed the pledge form.
