He said all these have been tackled by Tamil Nadu, which has gone several times ahead than the national average of organ donation. He said the organ donor rate in the country is a pathetic 0.26/million population as compared to nearly 2 per million in Tamil Nadu. He said a lot of efforts have gone into this success which included excellent government support, contribution by Mohan Foundation and the pro-active media support, excellent support by the Police which has increased public awareness tremendously. He said  Maharashtra and other states in the country should follow a Road Map like in Tamil Nadu. He stressed that even if the national average goes to 1 per million, it would take care of all the present demands of organs in country, while at 4/million rate all the countries in South Asia could benefit from India, thereby giving not just succor to the end organ failures patients but also a good name to the country.
