Organ Donation Awareness talk at Merit Solutions and Services, Ambatur

  Employees at the talk

  Merit Solutions and Services, Ambatur invited MOHAN Foundation on 29.09.2014 to give awareness talk on organ donation for their employees. Ms. S. Kavitha Marketing Coordinator represented MOHAN Foundation. There were two sessions organized in two different blocks.

   

  The first session was organized in the board room and second one in the cafeteria. Ms. Kavitha, delivered a talk on Organ Donation.  In her talk she explained the following:

   

  • Importance and need of organ donation
  • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Eye donation
  • Preservation time of organs
  • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website
  • TNOS website and Transplant Registry

   

   

  The participants raised queries about organ sharing and allocation, whom to be contacted in case of emergency. Nearly 55 of them attended the session. At the end of the session priceless gift brochures were distributed and 15 employees supported this noble cause by picking up the donor cards and rest of them said they will register after discussing with their family members.
