  • Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director of MOHAN Foundation Nagpur was invited by the Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur to give a talk on Organ Donation on 16th December 2013. Dr. Wankhede gave a vivid presentation of how organs can be donated while living and after death. He emphasized the need to understand that Brain dead persons can never come back to life and that such people can help several people to live. This he said was possible if the relatives of the  brain dead patient consent to donate the organs, such as two kidneys, liver, heart, pancreas, two eyes, skin, etc.

The talk was followed by a lively question and answer session wherein issues such as medico-legal, moral and religious aspects were clarified. Dr. Wankhede emphasized that all religions advocate helping the needy which also include donating organs. This is all the more important because there is no need to take the healthy organs to the heaven or even cremating/burying them. Organ donation is the highest service to mankind.

Rtn. Dr. Ravi Wankhede requested  the NSS in-charge Mr. Santosh Khadse to help organize a poster painting competition by the students of the College which he readily agreed to do so in near future. Earlier he welcomed Dr. Wankhede by presenting a floral bouquet. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Prafulla Nayse.
