MOHAN Foundation participated in Telangana State Youth Festival 2015

  • First Telangana State Youth Festival was organized by Youth Services Department at Sampradaya Vedika in Shilpa Ramam and was inaugurated by honorable transport minister Shri. Mahendar Reddy and advisor to Telangana Government KV Ramanachary, Serilingampally MLA Arikepudi Gandhi, International Table Tennis Player Naina Jaiswal, Youth Services Director Shri. Lav Agarwal, Dr. Koti Reddy, and other officials participated in the function on 2nd and 3rd January 2015.

     

    Around 650 participants from all over the state of Telangana attended the festival to compete in different events including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Manipuri and Odissi were held at Sampradaya Vedika. Similarly, Tabla, Harmonium, Veena, Sitar, Guitar, Flute, Mridangam and Violin were held at Shilpa Sandhya Vedika. While Folk Song (Group) and Folk Dance (Group) were conducted at Samskrutika Vedika, Elocution (English/Hindi/Telugu), Essay writing, Quiz, Group Discussions and Painting competitions were conducted at Craft Training Centre.

     

    Dr. Koti Reddy of MOHAN Foundation spoke about importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.

     

    MOHAN Foundation has also organized a stall for two days of festival to spread awareness among the participating youth and distributed donor cards, family donor cards, information brochures and activity reports

     

    We thank Mr. Lav Agarwal, IAS, Youth Services Director and Mrs. Usha Rani, Youth Services Deputy Director for inviting us to this wonderful event to promote organ donation. We also thank all the young participants that have given their valuable time for this noble cause.
