MOHAN Foundation conducts an organ donation awareness talk for drivers at RTO, Nagpur

  MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving License on 12 February 2016.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points-

  • Importance and need of Organ donation:
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death.
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation
  • Eye donation, skin donation & whole body donation
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.
  • Importance of Organ transplant Act & Role of ZTCC in Nagpur.

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 40 drivers were present during the talk. 10 drivers took the consent forms, they will discuss with their family members then sign consent form.

   

  The Participants asked the following questions:-

  Liver regeneration takes how many days?

  What is the cost for liver transplant?
