MOHAN Foundation Conducted an Awareness Talk at Inter State Youth Red Cross Training Camp for Boys, Panchkula

  • On 20th October 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society – Haryana state branch, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk at Inter State Youth Red Cross Training Camp for Boys held at Laxmi Bhawan, Mata Mansa Devi Mandir, Panchkula. In this camp, youths were being provided an opportunity of community living and knowledge of Red Cross, General Health Awareness and First Aid Training around 103 students, 16 counsellors from all over India (10 States) and members of Red Cross – Haryana participated in the session.

     

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Deepika Arora.

     

    She explained the purpose, necessity and importance of organ donation, concept of brain death, THO Act and myths related to organ donation, how to pledge for organ donation.

    Participants raised many queries –

    How long the organs are stored?

    How are organ allotted?

    Are the hospitals selling organ?

     

    All queries were answered. Information brochures were distributed and around 70 donor cards were taken by the participants.
