  Mr. D. Srinivasan, the proprietor of Bhuddhar Gym, Thiruvallur organized a Blood Donation camp along with a awareness on Organ Donation in the Thiruvallur locality.  They invited MOHAN Foundation to give a talk on the Concepts of Brain Death and set up an information stall on Organ Donation on 14^th February 2013, Valentine’s Day.  The Transplant Coordinator Mr. M. Issac explained the following topics to the participants:

   

  • Healthy life style
  • Healthy donor
  •  Types of donors
  •  Difference between natural death and brain death
  • Difference between brain death and coma
  • Organs that can be donated
  • Time of preservation of organs
  • Relevance of donor card

   

  All the participants were excited to visit the stall and showed their support for Organ Donation by picking up Donor Cards. They also raised few queries like:

   

              1.    How can I convince my conservative family, who are against Organ Donation?

              2.    If something happens to me in future, do I have to inform MOHAN Foundation?

              3.    How can they procure my organ if I die in my home?   

   

  The queries were answered. Nearly 80 picked up donor cards and promised to spread this information to their family members and friends. Mr. M. Issac interacted with the media personnel gathered there and informed them about Organ Donation and the activities of MOHAN Foundation.
