MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Camp in Avadi, Chennai on 09 January 2017.
The program was conducted by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar of MOHAN Foundation. The green ribbons and the information brochures on organ donation were distributed to the jawans and officers. The program was conducted in the Men’s Recreation auditorium.
The Chief Guest were Shri. Virendra Agarwal, DIGP., Central Reserve Police Force, Group Centre, Avadi and K. P. Sudha., Deputy Commandant, Central Reserve Police Force, Avadi.
First a short movie on the success of Organ Donation in Tamil Nadu was played and followed by video on explanation of Brain Death by Dr. Sandeep Vaishya.
Dr. Hemal first thanked CRPF for the initiative in creating awareness on organ donation and then started the presentation on the activities that are been carried out by MOHAN Foundation and gave details on the introduction of INOS by MOHAN Foundation. Then she explained in detail the why, what, who and when of organ donation.
The discussion after the talk was on organ allocation and on illegal activities of organ donation.
Around 200 officers and jawans attended the program and nearly all picked a donor card to support organ donation.
