17th January, 2015 MOHAN Foundation Chandigarh conducted an awareness session for the students of GMSSS-33, Chandigarh under the “Student Awareness Campaign” which started on to cover all the government schools of Chandigarh. The session which was conducted in GMSSS -33 covered almost all the students of 12th and 11th standards who were present. Principal and their coordinator, Ms. Shelly is keen on promoting the cause and support this noble cause of “Organ Donation”.
Around 150 students participated in the program which was conducted in two sessions. Students were given presentation on the phenomenon of Brain Death and the process of organ donation through a presentation and videos by the Program Coordinator Nilakshi. The myths and misconception associated with organ donation were also discussed and got cleared. The donor cards were shown to them. They asked very relevant questions regarding Blood as well as Organ Donation. A student lost her mother because of the Kidney failure recently said, I would like to associate with the organization and work to promote Organ Donation. After presentation students were keen to know the process of organ retrieval and transplantation.
