Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Regional Transport Office, Nagpur

• Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 19 May 2017.This session was meant for  drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.

  Mr.Bulu Behera represented MOHAN Foundation  and delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:-

  • What are Organ Donation and the Law?
  • Who can donate organ?
  • Type of organ donation.
  • Brain Death Natural Death and Coma.
  • Myths related to Organ donation.
  • Deceased donation case in Nagpur.
  • Kidney transplant hospital in Nagpur.
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  It was a very interactive session. 19 drivers were present at the talk. The drivers asked the following questions:-

  • Where is MOHAN foundation office?
  • Is Liver transplant possible in Nagpur?
  • Who is the right person to sign consent form at the time of organ donation?
