  • The second day of the Angels of Change training program at P N Dhawan Adarsh Vidyalaya started at 1.00PM on 29th June 2017. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar of MOHAN Foundation conducted the training.

The training started with a recap of the Day 1 activities. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde played a transplant recipient video. She asked the students to become the recipient and write a thank you letter to the donor for giving her a second chance at life. Every student wrote their own thank you letters.

On the first day the students were asked to think about how to promote organ donation.  The students presented their ideas on creating awareness on organ donation. The following ideas were given by the students.

    1. Making a Human Chain in front of the school to create awareness on organ donation
    2. Information desk at school events for Public Awareness on their sports day, annual day, cultural programs etc
    3. Some group of students done a small survey with the general public
    4. Slogan writing, Poster making and Songs on Organ Donation

MOHAN foundation invited Dr. Supraja Dharani, Founder of Tree Foundation and a member of a donor family. She shared her experience of donating her mother’s skin and corneas. The students were very much interested in hearing the story. She motivated the students to talk to a few families every Saturday so that the entire neighborhood understands organ donation. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde gave a small gift as a token of appreciation.

The training concluded with finalization of school events and a practice session on public speaking using the presentation. MOHAN Foundation thanks the principal, Ms Prameela for the  support in conducting the Angels of Change  training in the school.
