An Interactive session on Organ Donation at Blue Vaishnavi Flight Logistics

  On 19^th January 2015, Vaishnavi Flight Logistics, Clive Battery, Chennai initiated an awareness programme for their Co-workers on Organ Donation. Mr. Geri, Director of Vaishnavi Friends Group approached MOHAN Foundation to give an awareness talk on Organ Donation.

  The programme began with welcome address and Mr. Geri welcomed all the participants. Prakash K. Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation facilitated and spoke about the Concepts of Organ Donation.

  The following topics were covered in his talk:

  • Types of Organ Donation - Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death and Coma
  • Importance of the consent from the family
  • Importance of Donor card 
  • Tissues and organs  that can be donated
  • Helpline Number  and websites for information
  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
  • Case Sharing
