MOHAN Foundation conducted an introductory session on the “Post Graduate Diploma in Transplant Coordination & Grief Counselling,” course at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Langol, Manipur

On April 15, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an introductory session on the "Post Graduate Diploma in Transplant Coordination & Grief Counselling," course for the second time at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd. (SHRI), marking the launch of a dual degree course offered jointly by SHRI and MOHAN Foundation.

 

The course was crafted by Ms. Sujatha Suriyamoorthi, Associate Director of Courses at MOHAN Foundation, in close collaboration with Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer at MOHAN Foundation. The session was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi and Ms. Thoidingjam Udayini Khuman, Transplant Coordinator at MOHAN Foundation.

 

Two sessions were conducted on the same day. The first session took place in the chamber of the Nursing Supervisor at SHRI, attended by senior nursing officers overseeing various wards and ICUs. The second session was conducted with junior nursing officers and staff from the Department of Operation Management at SHRI, held in the auditorium hall.

 

In each session, Ms. Monica commenced the presentation by gauging the staff's perceptions and understanding of organ donation and transplantation. She then proceeded to introduce MOHAN Foundation, followed by a detailed explanation of the course structure using a PowerPoint presentation.

 

The points elaborated upon included:

• Objectives of the course

• Course curriculum

• Scope of Transplant Coordination

• Eligibility criteria for joining the course

• Benefits of pursuing the dual degree

• Course modules and delivery mode

 

Subsequently, a one-on-one interaction session was conducted, during which participants raised queries regarding the course content and examination procedures.

 

At the conclusion of the session, Ms. Anisha Khundongbam, Assistant Manager- Operations at SHRI, expressed gratitude to the MOHAN Foundation team for conducting the session and pledged to provide feedback and gauge the participants' interest.

 

Approximately 20 participants attended the first session, while 40 attended the second session, totalling 60 participants
