MOHAN Foundation conducted Organ Donation awareness session at Soft point computer Institute

MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur was invited by Mr. Rupesh Wasnik at Soft Point Computer Institute, Vaishali Nagar in Kamal chouk, Nagpur on 5th Dec .To sensitize the students of MSCIT course. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator gave detail information about Organ donation & Transplantation.

  • What is Deceased donation and which organs and tissues can be donated?
  • In case brain death which Organs and Tissues can be donated?
  • Difference between coma and brain death.
  • Time factor of Organ retrieval & its transplantation.

  • Age limit for organ donation?
  • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO, SOTTO, ZTCC.
  • Information about Human Organ Transplant Act 1994.
  • Information about MLC case and Non MLC about organ donation.
  • Myths and facts related organ donation.
  • Importance of Donor card.
  • Request to use MOHAN Foundation website and help line number.

The following questions were asked by participants

  • What is bone marrow & who require Bone Marrow Transplant?
  • Where is the MOHAN Foundation Head office?
  • What are the scheme available for organ transplant?

Total 18 students were present & 2 of them signed the pledge form & collected their Donor Card.  MOHAN Foundation Thanks Mr. Rupesh Wasnik who is the Head of the Institute for giving us an opportunity to conduct the session and support organ donation.
