6^th August, 2013 was marked as Organ Donation Day. MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur organised an awareness session on the issue for the National Service Scheme (NSS) coordinators of Matru Seva Sangh Institute of Social Work (MSSISW), Nagpur. Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur conducted the session. Dr. John Menachery, Principal, MSSISW, Nagpur welcomed Dr. Wankhede and felicitated him with a shawl and bouquet for having donated a kidney to his friend four years ago.

Mr. Bulu Behera and Ms. Kanchan Shewade, Transplant Coordinators’, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur coordinated the event. Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur made an audio-visual presentation for the gathering. He covered all aspects about organ donation to give an overview to the audience. At the end there was a question and answer session.

The presentation was followed by a rally in which 300 participants took part. The participants included both students and members of the staff. A brochure containing information about organ donation was distributed. 4 participants pledged their organs.

Dr. John Menachery, Principal, MSSISW, Nagpur and other members of the staff cooperated for the success of this first event organised by MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur.
