On 14^th August, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation was organised for the employees of Continental Automotive Components India Pvt. Ltd., Industrial Model Township (IMT), Manesar, Gurgaon. It was initiated by Ms. Shiva Ganju, Deputy Manager, Human Resources (HR), Continental Automotive Components India Pvt. Ltd. She invited MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR to conduct the session. Ms. Ganju had earlier organised a similar talk at her previous organisation, Camfill Farr Air Filtration India Pvt. Ltd.

The session was conducted by Dr. Muneet Sahi, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR. Her presentation focused on explaining about the concept of organ donation and transplantation; about the difference between brain death and cardiac death; about tissue donation especially cornea and skin donation; about the law governing organ donation and transplantation and about whole body donation.

The participants raised a few queries: what are the causes of brain death other than head injury, contraindications to organ donation, whether any religion or religious scriptures such as ‘Bhagavad Gita’ prohibit organ donation and about the importance of pledging ones organs by signing the donor card.

17 participants picked up the fliers with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and answers about organ donation and 14 participants picked up the donor card.
