Fire services in Tamil Nadu was introduced in 1908 with the formation of a Madras City Fire Brigade, a year after a major fire in the commissioner of revenue administration, land record office. Having 331 fire and rescue stations spread all over the state and 2 Rescue stations, the department is currently the second largest in the country and it has 7,347 over personnel.

MOHAN Foundation was given opportunity to conduct an awareness program on Organ Donation to the Firefighters of Esplanade Fire and Rescue Service North Chennai (Chennai High Court Division). On June 23, 2023, Mr Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator engaged the 87 brave firefighters and walked them through the concept of organ donation and transplantation, Brain death, how to get transplant, various government schemes and Organ Donation Helpline 18001037100. During the session green ribbons and information brochures were distributed.
