MOHAN Foundation, Chennai organized an Organ Donation Awareness Programme for the Armed Reserve Police Trainees. It was held at the Police training academy, Ashok Nagar, Chennai on 18^th May 2013. 

A group of around 284 Armed Reserve Police Trainees, a few sub-inspectors and one inspector of police attended the programme. 

Mr. Johnson, Transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, Chennai addressed the Armed Reserve Police Trainees and explained to them the various concepts related to deceased organ donation. Since the police is involved in conducting inquests in medico-legal cases, the following procedures were highlighted during the talk:

• Importance of time factor during organ donation
• How to prepare an inquest for deceased organ donor
• Tamil Nadu Government order 86 of 2011 regarding procedures and forms for post-mortem.

The interactive session helped the trainees to clarify their doubts and better understand the concept of deceased organ donation and gain the right knowledge and attitude towards this noble cause.

• Role of Transplant Coordinators in Hospitals
• Activities of MOHAN Foundation across the country to strengthen the Deceased Organ Donation programme
