On November 14, 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited for special screening of “Aye Zindagi” organized by Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. “Aye Zindagi”, a Hindi-language film, is based on an incredible true story of Ms. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation, played by veteran South actress and 3-time National Film Award winner Revathy Menon in the lead role. Dr Samiran Nundy, President of AIIMS, Rishikesh & Consultant, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi was invited as a special guest. Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MOHAN Foundation was also invited as a guest for the screening.

 

Amrita Hospital, Faridabad was founded in August, 2022 by humanitarian Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, fondly known as ‘Amma’. It is one of the largest hospitals in India with 2600 beds, 534 of which are ICU to be equipped with 81 specialty department along with 64 state-of-the-art Operation Theatres and 10 bunkers for precision-medicine oncology.  The hospital equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a centralised fully-automated laboratory, and is being seen as a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR).

 

After everyone was welcomed, Dr Samiran Nundy was invited to address the audience. After that Ms Pallavi Kumar was invited and she explained the genesis of the film and the need for setting up strong systems to make organ donation a reality in the newly opened hospital.

 

Also present at the screening were Brahmachari Nijamrita Chaitanya Swami ji (Administrative Director), Dr Sanjeev Singh (Medical Director), Dr Urmila Anandh ( Head, Department of Nephrology) and Dr Puneet Dhar (Senior Consultant, Gastrointestinal Surgery at Amrita) along with about 100 others from the hospital.

 

Post the screening, Dr Anirban Bose ( Director of Aye Zindagi) and Dr Sunil Shroff ( Managing Trustee of MOHAN Foundation) were invited to join on zoom and a discussion followed on the making of the film and the need for organ donation and transplantation.
