Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) in partnership with MOHAN Foundation, had launched ‘Jeevan Amrut – The Sweetest Gift of Life’, a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation for all their employees. As part of this programme, on August 23, 2022, Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd organized an awareness workshop on organ donation for labourers and non-executive staff of Adani Electricity, Chemboor division, Mumbai.

Ms. Rashmi was the speaker for the day, her discussion focused on the following areas in order to make the participants understand about the importance of organ donation.

1. Concepts of organ donation,
2. Types of death – Brain death and Circulatory death
3. Who can donate
4. Discussed the organ donation rate in India as well as other countries,
5. Myths and Facts surrounded by the topic was shared with the audience.

She appealed and encouraged each and everyone to pledge their organs.

Questions asked by the audience were as follows:

1. Why to discuss about donor card with the family members?
2. After my death, will my organs be allocated to my family members, if they require?

 

Finally, the N.S.S students of Maharshi Dayanand College performed a skit on organ donation, which gave a lot of insight about organ donation. Close to 120 people attended this session.
