On July 7, 2022, MOHAN Foundation conducted an online talk on Organ Donation for members  of NGO ANEW, Chennai.  ANEW trains young women in various skills that can lead to employment. The speaker for the session was Dr Hemal Kanvinde, Quality  Assurance Officer Chennai. 19 members and 30 students of two colleges attended the session. 

 

Dr Hemal began the session with an introduction about MOHAN Foundation. This was followed by an elaborate talk on the Concepts of Organ Donation with explanation on who, what and why organ donation is needed. Brain death was explained and the different pledging processes 

 

Post the talk, the discussion was on living donation, costs of transplantation, age of deceased donors and pediatric organ donors and family donor card. There was one living donor among the audience and she shared her experience, how it was difficult to donate to a cousin.
