On 16^th May 2022 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for 20 Post Graduation students of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work, Bajaj Nagar, Nagpur. Dr.Ravi Wankhede, Director of MOHAN Foundation and Mr. Bulu Behera were deputed to conduct the session.

An emotional video on Organ Donation was played to the audience, then Dr. Ravi Wankhede started the presentation by explaining the concepts of organ donation, body donation and skin donation, he explained the legal procedures of organ donation and briefly discussed about the myths surrounded by organ donation.

A story about a donor family who donated the organs of their love one, was narrated to the audience.

Questions asked by the participants were as follows

1. What is the process of organ donation?
2. “I am willing to donate my organ, but if my family does not give consent then what will happen”?
3. Can a smoker donate his organs?
4. What is the age limit for organ donation?

 

Dr. Wankhede answered all the questions and gave information about the courses, which are offered by MOHAN Foundation. Audience were interactive and attentive to the session. Around 10 of them pledged their organs and took the donor cards.
