On 15^th January 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, NSS Program Officer, to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NSS volunteers.  Around 50 NSS volunteers attended the session.

 

Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

 

In this talk, she explained the following points: -

• When and how does organ donation take place
• Organs that can be donated during life and after death
• The transplant waiting list in India
• Brain death
• Difference between brain death and coma
• Contraindications to organ donation
• Transplant Law
• Role of MOHAN Foundation
• Organ donation Myths and Facts
• Eye Donation

 

At the end of the session, Mrs. Harjinder Kaur thanked MOHAN Foundation and Ms. Neha for sharing with student’s information on a topic of great importance and relevance. Entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation.
