On 11^th December 2021 MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness talk on Organ Donation for Senior citizens of Old Age Home at Jeevan Aashraye Seva Sanstha, Nagpur. The session was conducted with help of Mr. Vikas Shende who is the in-charge of Old Age Home.

Ms. Prarthana introduced MOHAN Foundation and explained its activities. It was an interactive session.

Topics discussed in the session were as follows:

1. Concept of organ donation and its types

2. Who can donate?

3. No age constraint for organ donation

4. Types of death

    a. Brain death

    b. Circulatory death

5. Transplantation of Human Organ Act (THOA) was explained.

6. Myths and misconceptions related to organ donation.

Questions asked by the participants were as follows:

• Will the body be disfigured after bone donation?
• Can old age person donate organ after death and how?

The session was inspirational and informative which made twenty participants pledge their organs. There were 53 participants who actively participated in the session and were sensitized. We thank Mr. Vikas Shende for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
