On 20^th Aug 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by B.J. GMC Sassoon General Hospital, Pune for conducting awareness about Organ Donation among the general public through informative Desk as the closing ceremony of World Organ Donation Week celebration.

Mr Jagdish Borude (Transplant coordinator MOHAN foundation) started the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation as an NGO working passionately for deceased organ donation past 24 years. He shared about its mission and objectives and started explaining about what organ donation is, when, who, why and how it can be done.

Mr Jagdish explained the difference between Cardiac Death & Brain Death in-depth. Then she elaborated about the organs & tissues that can be donated by both the cases.  He also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation. Participants were invited to join in our volunteering program & internship projects.

About 35 participants attended the awareness session. About 30 pledges were taken and few were taken online. We thank PSM Department and B.J. GMC Sassoon General Hospital, Pune for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
