Organ Transplantation is the most preferred treatment for patients with the end-stage organ disease. There is an inadequate supply of cadaver organs in proportion to the need. In India, over two lakh patients await organ transplants every year.  The Indian rate for deceased donation per million population is 0.08, much lower in comparison to that of USA (25). In Karnataka, out of 750 patients registered for kidney transplant only 32 patients were able to receive a organ. Lack of public awareness is one of the most important reasons behind low organ donation rates. To address this MOHAN Foundation gives high importance to public education programs on organ donation.

On 12^th January 2013, MOHAN Foundation Bangalore organized an organ donation talk at Universal College of Nursing. More than 400 students and faculty members attended the programme. Mr. Bino James - Project Manager of MOHAN Foundation Bangalore addressed the students and explained to them the various concepts related to deceased organ donation.
