On 20^th August 2021, J.J Nursing College of Grant Medical College Sir and Jamshedjee Jeejeebhoy Group of Hospitals Byculla Mumbai invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct a sensitization program for BSC Nursing students with the help of Principal Dr Aparna Sankhe and Lecturer Mrs Hemlata Gajbhe.

Principal Dr Aparna Sankhe discussed about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation and shared about statistics to the students. Prize Distribution for various competitions like Rangoli, Essay, Poster and Video making were also held on that day.

Dr Jimmy Gupta started the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She then familiarized students about the session they are going to attend and discussed what expectancy of students is in this particular cause of organ donation. Dr Jimmy elaborated about the concepts of Organ and tissue donation. She explained the types of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the students. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home.

She then explained about the process of Brain Dead Identification and Certification with detailed discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved. A video related to Organ Donation related retrieval process, transport and green corridor was also shown to the students. About 150 students attended the session and few pledged online to be Organ Donor.
