On Aug 5, 2021, on the occasion of 19^th foundation day of INSO (Indian National Students Organization) an information desk was set up by SOTTO (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization) Haryana. The celebration event was conducted at the Tagore Auditorium of Maharishi Dayanand University where the information and organ donation pledge desk were set up by Ms Deepti Kumari (Transplant Coordinator), Mr. Rajesh Kumar (Media consultant) from SOTTO, They were joined by Dr. Sanaa Bhadwal, Project Leader, MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Rohit Tanwar joined the event as a volunteer.

 

Dr. Sanaa along with the SOTTO team spoke to the attendees at the event which included students, party workers and general public about organ donation, the need for organ donation, how can organ donation help, who can be an organ donor.

 

The public was also counselled about the process of signing up to be an organ donor. The individuals who wished to become an organ donor were aided in filling up the pledge form (Form 7). Along with this information pamphlets on organ donation were also distributed among the attendees.

 

On the occasion of the event Senior party leader Digvijay Chautala also signed up to be an organ donor and appealed to the public to come forward and join the cause. He  that the awareness of organ donation can be seen increasing in the state and further remarked that to help someone even after death is a great noble deed.

 

Close to 400 pledge forms were distributed among the public at the event and 132 individuals signed up to be organ donors.
