On 3^rd August 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Secretary, Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk for their Home Nursing Students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 40 students from various parts of Punjab participated in the session.

 

Mr. Santosh Kumar, State Training Supervisor addressed the gathering and gave a brief introduction to the participants. Students were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch. In this talk, she explained the following points.

• Importance and need of organ donation
• Difference between natural death, coma and brain death
• Importance of donor card
• Types of donations live & deceased donation
• Role of MOHAN Foundation

 

Ms. Neha also explained the whole process of eye donation. She informed the participants that eye donation is a simple procedure that can be done at home. She motivated the participants for eye donation.

 

It was indeed and amazing session as participants asked various questions on organ donation. Around 40 students were present in the training hall and 25 of them picked up the donor cards. They would love to share their wish with their families.
