MOHAN Foundation was invited to attend the British Transplantation Society (BTS) and NHSBT Joint online Congress 2021 on February 24-25, 2021.

 

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) and MOHAN Foundation have a Memorandum of Understanding where both the organisations have agreed to learn from each other and work together to improve the organ donation rate in both countries. The offer to attend the congress was in recognition of the MOU.

 

“Resilience” was the theme of the Congress and characteristic of the organ donation and transplantation community. The congress had plenary sessions, keynote addresses, award presentations and live streaming from the Main stage and parallel sessions. Throughout the Congress one could access oral presentations and free communications and ‘catch-up on-demand’ if one had missed out something.

 

An oral abstract (pre-recorded) on, “Deceased Organ Donation Programme – Impact of Trained Transplant Coordinators’ Services in a Public Hospital in India”, was presented by Ms. Sujatha Suriyamoorthi, Manager-Information Systems, MOHAN Foundation. The authors of the abstract were Ms. Sujatha Suriyamoorthi, Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director and Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation.
