On 6th September 2020, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an Awareness Webinar on Organ Donation at Meditation Centre for students of Gondia. Mrs. Varsha Parki organized this webinar through zoom.

Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and activities to the participants. She explained concepts of organ donation and which organ can be donated, types of donation, living donation, cadaver donation. She also explained the process of donation and transplantation statistics over the years and debunked common myths associated with organ donation.

The organs and tissues that can be donated while living and after a person dies of circulatory death were listed out. She then focused on brain stem death and listed out the organs and tissues that could be donated. She also spoke about how time was critical in transplanting organs from deceased donors.

The Q&A session was a very informative one. The audience posed questions about the skin donation process, age criteria for eye donation. Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi answered all the queries promptly. Around 25 students attended the program.

We would like to thank Mrs. Varsha Parki of Meditation Centre, Gondia for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
