On 29^th August 2020, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Sumiti Vasudeva, Host Club President of the Rotary Club Shahbad to give awareness about organ donation & transplantation to their club members. The Rotary clubs of District 308 launched a programme called ‘Samarpan’ Zonal meet on organ Donation. The session was taken by Mr. Sudhir Dewan and Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

Mr. Sudhir Dewan started the lecture giving general information on Organ donation. Participants were given an introduction to organ donation by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch. She explained the basic concepts of Organ Donation and Transplantation with the help of a simple PowerPoint presentation.

The following topics were explained in detail:

• Brain death
• Myths & facts related to Organ donation
• Statistics of the country concerning Organ donation
• Difference between Natural death & Brain death
• Transplant waiting list

Then Mr. Sudhir Dewan explained Plasma Donation and how the Rotary can help to promote Plasma Donation & Organ donation.

Mr. Sudhir Dewan shared his own story of what he went through when his liver failed. How he got a new lease of life and how he was motivated to join the cause of Organ Donation.

The session was very interactive and lively as many participants enthusiastically contributed to the discussion and asked many queries. The session went on for one hour and thirty minutes and close to 79 participants attended the session.
